Summerleys Road Royal Wedding Street Party
Britain came together yesterday to celebrate the wedding of Will and Kate, and in Great British tradition, street parties were held all over the country. Ours was no different! Rather than being held in the street it was held on the grounds of of furniture company Ercol which is down our road. It was so lovely to see everyone coming together to celebrate the Royal wedding, and a great opportunity to meet our neighbours! These days it seems that we don't really get to know our neighbours, so how wonderful that William and Kate gave us that excuse!
Lots of new connections and friendships were built. Traditional cakes and mountains of sandwiches were provided by the amazing organisers. Champagne was toasted, faces were painted, there were people of all generations out for the gathering. It was a beautiful afternoon and hope I've captured the spirit of the street party in these pictures!
