Masquerade Charity Ball in aid of The Happy House, Watamu, Kenya

At the weekend I photographed the Masquerade Charity Ball in aid of the Happy House orphanage in Watamu, Kenya. The fabulous event had been organised by the beautiful Christina Young and was held at Selsdon Park Hotel and Golf Club in Croydon. Events and production company bmeAV donated their services to the evening contributing their equipment and expertise on the night, complete with a disco! Christinas son Rob also sang for the 84 guests (photo below), you can check out his incredible voice here. The Happy House was founded by Sue Hayward in 2010 after dedicating twelve years to working with children in Kenya. It is home to around eighty children who have been orphaned, abused or abandoned. When Christina first found out about the Happy House and the amazing work that is done to help the children there, she felt she needed to do something more to raise awareness and help with funding the cause.

On the night, guests were treated to dinner and dancing, a raffle draw and an auction was held to which people bid generously! Some fantastic prizes were offered, including - A weeks stay at a luxury Spanish villa - Landscape or soul portrait painting by the talented Lynda Mangoro, - Jewellery, luxury chocolates and designer sunglasses donated by Alex Koeppen - Designer handbags by Anya Hindmarch - Mini VIP Captivating Prescence Day with Shay Allie - Dinner+bed and breakfast and a round of golf with the Selsdon Park Hotel - A whole day filming with bmeAV event company to create a DVD

I donated a portrait session in the auction which went for £250! I am so pleased that I was able to help raise some money!

The total raised from the event was an incredible £4295!!!
