Personal Brand Photography in Devon - Creative Portraits in Nature by Becky Rui - Gen Boast
I was looking back at this absolutely gorgeous session in Devon with the amazing Gen Boast recently. It was such a beautiful couple of days we spent around the coast.
As it turned out, this was just a few months before my partner and I made the move from Brighton to the South West, where all of these locations were suddenly MUCH closer!
It was interesting to look back through the gallery… some of these shots have remained firm favourites over the years, and others I loved jumped out at me as though I had never seen them before! Almost as if someone else had taken them. It’s a weird feeling.
While I love the images I create (with my clients, and for myself), I can be critical of my work, and often find it easier to appreciate the quality and creativity of other photographers imagery than my own. I know I’m not alone in that experience as a creative!
It seems that once some time has passed and I have had some distance, I enjoy my own work in a way that isn’t always so easy when fresh… somehow, some time has to pass before I can REALLY see them. I wonder if you relate?
The mystery of the creative process, of our shifting perceptions, memories, self-talk and salience is a fascinating thing.
You can view the original post of these images and learn more about brilliant Gen here.
I hope this post gives you a feel for the variety of images I make in my sessions… what you see here on the blog is always only just a snippet of the fullness of the gallery my clients receive - and always a HUUUGE challenge to whittle down to a mere 20 or so shots!
P.S. What difference would soulful brand photography make to you and your work in the world? How would fresh, authentic shots speak to your audience, and inspire you to show up? I’d love to explore collaborating on images for your next chapter. Book in a call with me here and let’s dream into it.
