Brand Introduction - March Meet the Maker: Day 1
This year I’m taking part in #marchmeetthemaker2021 on Instagram, which will be an interesting way for me to see how it feels to show up there most days for a month (thanks @joannehawker!). I’ll be sharing these posts on my blog here too.
Day 1: Brand intro
As a personal brand photographer, coach & artist, my brand is a very personal one. Being service based work, what I do comes from my heart & mind, which I hope you can feel!
When it comes to talking about ones personal brand, I think it’s hugely important to be able to feel & know yourself as separate from it too. Your personal brand does not exist without you, but you simply cannot fit ALL of who YOU are into a ‘personal brand’, therefore while our personal brands are MADE of us (our personalities, values, style etc), we’re a whooole lot more than them too.
This distinction between what is me & what is my brand has been a big part of my journey over the time I’ve been in biz as a photographer (omg 10yrs in June!!), & if I was to write about all the learnings & unfoldings that have occurred within me, with my biz as a catalyst, we’d be here for a while! It’s been a huge gift & privilege to get to do the work I do and learn a lot so far about what it means to ‘be myself’.
For now I’ll say my brand is about genuine personal connection, being real & honest, having fun & playing, exploration & uncovering, deep kindness & compassion, whether in the form of a photography journey or coaching.
My work is about supporting kind humans to make room for inspiration, uncover what’s really important to them, find the confidence to allow it to the surface, and share what is in their heart to share with the peeps who are ready for it.
I do see myself an artist first. So I’ve been grateful for the space to reconnect with ‘making’ this past year, realising that not enough of my creative energy was being channeled into my own play & projects when I have a business to keep going. I share my art explorations @beckyruistudio & music with my friends in Brighton @sero_music.
Having realised this about my own creativity, I’m extra passionate about creative business owners & freelancers keeping some of that creative juice in reserve and getting on with their own projects. More on that soon!
If you know you need to update the photos you’re using for your business, now is a great time to get your next shoot in the diary.
6 month and 9 month payment plans are available now to help spread your investment. Booking your session now secures your spot in what’s become a fully booked schedule for me between lock-downs.
Message me here and we’ll find a time to speak and explore the kinds of images that will help you to show up powerfully and authentically in 2021.
